“A massive thank you” – Alfie Devine bids a fond farewell to Port Vale FC
Loanee Alfie Devine passed on a “massive thank you” to everyone at Port Vale FC after he was recalled by parent club Tottenham Hotspur.

Asked by the club’s media team if he had a message to the fans, Devine said: “A massive thank you. From my first game to the Reading game at the weekend, the support has been really good. I’ve loved every minute of it. I felt welcome on the pitch, I feel great, I’ve loved it.”
The midfielder said the same was true of his family who had attended Vale games. He added: “They’ve loved it. When they come here they feel welcome. A massive thank you from them for everything the club has done.”
One of the highlights of Devine’s spell was a memorable goal against Mansfield Town and the youngster said it was: “A special moment. The celebrations afterwards just topped it off.”
Finally, Devine had a message to any other players considering a loan move to Burslem saying: “Take the opportunity when you get it. It’s a great club. Everyone has very positive comments on their time here. It’s a great club to be involved in.”
