“Preparing as well as we can” – Jason Lowe on how to try and turn Port Vale’s form around
Experienced defender Jason Lowe says the team take “full responsibility” for the FA Cup loss against Stevenage and the side now have to prepare well to reverse their recent poor form.
The defender told the media about the Stevenage game saying: “The manner in which it ended up is more than disappointing for us. We take full responsibility for it. On the other side of the coin we’ve scored three goals against a team going well in the League but obviously it wasn’t good enough.”
Lowe is able to play in a number of roles and has recently been seen in the centre of a back three. He said: “Throughout my career I’ve been asked to play various roles. Wherever the manager wants to play me and thinks I may be able to help the team I’ll try my best.”
Lowe thinks the experienced players can help the squad when it comes to reversing Vale’s recent poor form. He added: “It’s about focussing on what we’re good at. The obvious one is the results haven’t been what we want. Justified or not, it’s as simple as that.
“It’s about trusting the process. Everyone’s in it together. Keeping the energy levels high, supporting each other. We have to give ourselves the best chance by preparing as well as we can.
“We’re taking it game by game, hitting the reset button, letting go of either the victory or the defeat and we have to give our best in the next match.
The Valiants take on Wigan Athletic at Vale Park in their next League One game.
