Port Vale rumour: another youngster linked with big money exit
A report in the Sun newspaper says that a “host” of big clubs are chasing the signature of Port Vale teenager Liam Brazier.
Borussia Dortmund head a pack of top European and Premier League clubs chasing Port Vale wonderkid Liam Brazier.
The 16-year-old attacking midfielder can’t sign pro forms until he turns 17 next month.
But Port Vale are desperate to sign the youngster up and then cash in.
SunSport understands the League One club can sell him in a £750,000 transfer to one of the stellar clubs currently tracking him.
Premier League clubs Brentford, Wolves, West Ham, Bournemouth, Crystal Palace and Fulham are all keeping tabs on the fledgling talent.
However, Champions League giants Dortmund are currently favourites to lure the kid to the Bundesliga, ahead of German rivals Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen.
Other top European outfits, including PSG, Marseille, Nice, Juventus, Benfica and Rangers are also well aware of Brazier’s progress.
It must be stressed that this is only a rumour at the moment with no official confirmation from any of the club including the Vale.
However, the Valiants have already sold two other youngsters this season. Michael Mills joined Newcastle Utd while Freddie Lawrie was sold to Aston Villa for a fee believed to be in excess of £600,000.
Unlike the other two, Brazier has played first-team football for Vale, coming on in the 92nd minute of the 1-0 Football League Trophy win over Crewe in September. With sixteen year-old Jack Shorrock becoming the club’s youngest-ever first-team scorer on Boxing Day, and Bayley Dipepa and Ben Lomax also making first-team appearances, the future for Vale’s youth team looks bright.

Great news for academy set up but first team now needs better class players.
