Towering Barnsley defender Lopata joined the Valiants on loan on January transfer deadline day 2024. It followed the cancellation of Rhys Williams loan due to injury. Lopata is a Polish U21 International and stands six foot four inches tall.

He made his full debut in the home match against Reading in February 2024. However, with manager Andy Crosby soon replaced by Darren Moore, he was used infrequently and made just six appearances before he returned to his parent club at the end of the season.
