Port Vale add striker to their squad
Port Vale have confirmed the signing of former loanee Uche Ikpeazu on a deal until the end of the season.
Ikpeazu had a previous loan spell with the club back in the 2015-16 season scoring six goals. He played most recently in the Turkish Leagues and was available as a free agent and therefore eligible to be signed outside of the transfer window.
He will add some competition to a forward line missing recent signing Ryan Loft through injury. It means that Vale, who started the fixture against Bristol Rovers without a recognised striker, can select between James Wilson, Josh Thomas and Ikpeazu while Loft recovers.
Manager Andy Crosby told the official website: “I am excited to welcome Uche into the team. He joins the group to provide competition and goals at the top end of the pitch having scored goals in League One and in the Championship in recent seasons.
“As a person, Uche has an infectious personality and wants to push himself every day to become the best possible version of himself and we all look forward to working closely with him over the remainder of the season to help him achieve just that.”
