Port Vale vice captain agrees to contract extension
Port Vale have announced that Funso Ojo has agreed a new contract which will keep him at the club until 2026.
The defensive midfielder has been a big success since joining the Valiants in the summer of 2022. To date, he has made 33 appearances and scored twice.
For the younger players he is a fantastic example of how to conduct yourself and how to set standards for your own personal and professional growth…
The player was also named the club’s PFA Community Player of the Year for the 2022-23 season following his inspiring approach to going green and finding ways to be kinder to the planet through PVFC Foundation’s relationship with nationwide campaign ‘Planet League’.
Discussing the new contract manager Andy Crosby told the official website: “We’re delighted that Funso has put pen to paper on his contract that sees him stay with us until at least June 2026.
“His talent, work rate and importance to this team cannot be understated, he is an extremely valuable member of the squad that has all of the key components of what we’re building here, on and off the pitch.
“For the younger players he is a fantastic example of how to conduct yourself and how to set standards for your own personal and professional growth and for the rest of the squad he continually ensures those standards that we expect on a daily basis are upheld.
“I’m looking forward to continuing to work with Funso and this extension is extremely well deserved.”
