Port Vale loanee released by parent club
Striker Matty Taylor has been released by his parent club Oxford United. The striker spend the second-half of last season on loan at Vale Park.
Taylor, 33, is one of three senior players to be released by United. Coach Liam Manning told the media: “Obviously Matty Taylor is a club legend and has been here in two spells since he was just a kid. I am sure the fans will join us in thanking him for everything he has done for the club.”
The striker scored 64 goals in 164 games across two spells for Oxford.
Well-known to former Port Vale manager Darrell Clarke from his Bristol Rovers days, Taylor joined the Valiants on the final day of the 2023 transfer window. He made fourteen appearances for the Valiants and scored four goals.
It is not known if the Vale have any interest in adding Taylor on a permanent basis this summer.
