I’ve enjoyed my time on loan at Port Vale, playing regular first team football and getting a few goals and assists to my name, and that’s just made me want to go and play even more games…
He had a relatively fruitful loan spell with the Valiants making 34 appearances and scoring four times.
Butterworth told the local media: “I’ve enjoyed my time on loan at Port Vale, playing regular first team football and getting a few goals and assists to my name, and that’s just made me want to go and play even more games.
“I’d like to wish everybody at Blackburn Rovers well for the future. They deserve a chance again to go up and I’m sure they’ll get the club back to the Premier League.”
A Blackburn Rovers club spokesman said: “Rovers would like to thank Dan for his efforts over the years and we wish him well in his future career.”
It remains to be seen if the Valiants will express an interest in signing the forward on a permanent basis.
