“He is quality” – Port Vale manager pays tribute to veteran wideman
Port Vale manager Darrell Clarke has heaped praise on “quality” wide player David Worrall and says that he “can’t speak highly enough” of the 32 year-old.
Worrall has been in fine form this season and only occasional injury concerns have prevented him being ever-present during the club’s return to League One.
I have been really pleased with a lot of his performances and, as a character, I can’t speak highly enough of the guy…
Clarke told the Sentinel newspaper: “He is quality. I love Wozza, he is a great lad. He trains every day to the maximum and every time he plays a game. I think he’s had a really good season, he has been very effective.
“He does what he does, we have known over a period of time what David Worrall does and he has stepped up a lot this year. I have been really pleased with a lot of his performances and, as a character, I can’t speak highly enough of the guy.”
Vale no longer reveal contract details for players but Worrall is presumed to be out of contract this summer. He has been with the club since 2017 making 240 appearances – following the high praise from Clarke, it’s highly likely he will be asked to extend his stay beyond this season.
