Double injury boost for Valiants?
Port Vale could see both Will Forrester and Ben Garrity back in their squad for Saturday’s home game against Cambridge United.
Both have been missing in recent weeks through injury. Forrester’s absence has been particularly acute as the Vale are also missing fellow defenders Lewis Cass and Dan Jones through injury. Forrester’s absence has seen youngsters Sammy Robinson and Derek Agyakwa fill in at the back.
Manager Darrell praised Robinson’s contribution at Portsmouth saying “Sammy has done brilliantly on the right side of a three. The lads have given their all, everybody can see that and yes we are delighted. (We wanted) a few more wins so far in this second half of the season but have eight games to go to finish as high up the league as we possibly can.”
Commenting on the injured duo Clarke added: “It was touch and go (for Will Forrester) for the game. We were hoping he was and we are hoping he isn’t going to be ruled out too long. We are hoping he will be back next week. Ben Garrity is the same, if his rehab goes well this week then we hope to have him back next week as well.”
