Teenage Port Vale Academy goalkeeper Dominic Brook has been called up for a Republic of Ireland U19 training camp.
Brook, who is an U16 player for the Port Vale academy is one of four goalkeepers called up for the training camp at Loughborough University which will take place ahead of next month’s UEFA European U19 Championship qualifiers.
Brook, despite being an U16 player, has featured regularly for the Port Vale U18 team this season. He has also made three appearances in the FA Youth Cup competition which saw Vale’s youngsters reach the fifth round.
Brook came on as a sub for Reuben Perry in the 3-1 first round win over Chesterfield, when Perry was sent-off. With Perry suspended, Brook then started in the 1-0 win over Salford City in the second round. He also played the full ninety minutes of the 3-0 win over Hull City in the third round.
