Key January Window date revealed for Port Vale
The 20th January could be a key date for Port Vale’s transfer business during the 2023 transfer window.
Earlier this season, it was revealed that Oxford United will be assessing whether to recall goalkeeper Jack Stevens, who is currently on loan and first-choice with the Valiants.
Should Stevens be recalled, it would leave Vale with a potential transfer window headache as Aidan Stone would then be the club’s only senior keeper and a foray into the transfer market would probably be needed to replace Stevens.
However, it has been revealed that Oxford have until the 20th January to recall Stevens from his loan spell, so if no move is made by that date, Vale can breathe easy as least as far as the goalkeeping position goes.
Stevens has made twenty two appearances for the Valiants so far this season but any permanent move for the 25 year-old looks unlikely as Stevens is contracted with Oxford United until 2025.
