Port Vale manager Darrell Clarke has revealed that summer signing Funso Ojo has suffered a hamstring injury.
The injury is set to rule the midfielder out for several weeks as Clarke revealed “He is injured, quite a bad hamstring.”
The news is a blow for the Valiants with Ojo a regular pick for the opening games of the season. The Valiants have cover in the form of Brad Walker and Tom Pett, but another central midfielder Harry Charsley is also recovering from injury leaving Vale slightly short of numbers in the engineroom.
31 year-old Ojo has made nine League starts for the club since joining in the summer. In his absence, Vale started with a midfield three of Brad Walker, Ben Garrity and Tom Conlon for the 1-0 home defeat to Sheffield Wednesday.
