Confident at the moment – Port Vale striker on his scoring run
Ellis Harrison confirmed he was “confident” after his fourth and fifth goals in Vale colours secured a 2-1 win over Shrewsbury Town.
Harrison now has five goals in just seven appearances for the Valiants since he joined for an undisclosed fee from Fleetwood Town in August.
I came here to play for the gaffer; I trust him and he trusts me…
The striker told the official Port Vale website: “It is a good start but I can’t get complacent. It is probably the worst I have played in a Port Vale shirt but that’s hidden because I scored two goals and it looks like I didn’t have a bad game!
“It was a good pass by Butts 9Dan Butterworth )in the first-half and the header, well that is my strong point – I like to win headers, like to challenge and like to have a battle.
“I am confident at the moment, the ball seems to find me but in a few months it might not find me and I could be pulling my hair out. At the moment, the quality into the box is really good and that is what I have been asking for over the past couple of years as a striker.
“I came here to play for the gaffer; I trust him and he trusts me, if I was having a bad game like that before I would get dragged at 60 but the gaffer put trust in me and I scored the winner.”
