Rumour – former Port Vale loanee linked to permanent League Two move
Former Port Vale loanee Ryan Edmondson has been linked to a permanent move to League Two side Carlisle United.
According to a tweet:
A bit of out-going transfer news at LUFC – striker Ryan Edmondson set to join Carlisle United on a permanent deal. Knows manager Paul Simpson from the England youth set-up. #lufc

Edmondson proved to be a popular loan addition after he joined the Valiants in the January transfer window and he played his part in the club’s promotion. Edmondson made 21 appearances and scored three goals – however, he was also prepared to play out of position as a right wingback as Vale suffered an injury crisis.
The enthusiasm and commitment that Edmondson and fellow loanee Kian Harratt gave to the cause was noticed by Vale fans and the pair were roundly praised for their contributions as the club won promotion through the play-offs.
Edmondson has since returned to his parent side Leeds United. He reportedly has another year left on his contract but his chances of breaking through to the United first-team look remote and therefore a move away would look to represent his best chance of first-team football.
