Port Vale goalkeeper Aidan Stone agrees contract extension
Port Vale have confirmed that goalkeeper Aidan Stone has agreed a contract extension with the club which will keep him with the Valiants until 2024.
Stone was signed in the summer and was between the sticks at the end of the season including during the club’s successful play-off campaign.
Manager Darrell Clarke commented on the deal saying: “Aidan’s at a real good age for a goalkeeper, he’s got plenty of years to keep developing and getting better.
“Goalies mature and get better as they get older and older, Aidan’s at a great age and you can see from his performances at the start of the season to the end of the season where he was cemented in the team how fast he develops.
“There are areas of the game that he needs to work on and continue to develop and we’re hoping to make him an even better keeper, and if he keeps progressing the way he has been throughout last season, we’ll have a real top keeper on our hands.”
