Port Vale announce opening of the Robbie Williams suite in the Lorne St stand

Port Vale FC have announced the opening of the long-delayed Robbie Williams suite in the Lorne Street stand.

The suite had been planned as long back as the Valiant 2001 ownership days and was planned to be opened in 2007, but an opening date had been consistently delayed until the Shanahans took over the club.

However, the new area was opened to customers during the pop star’s charity gig which took place at the Vale Park stadium over the weekend.

What hospitality areas are available in the Lorne St stand?

This season there have been three suites open for corporate guests:

The Valiants Lounge will be well-known to many Valiants as it has held EGMs and club events (max capacity 400)
The CJ Bayley Lounge is a smaller area which is used as hospitality for match sponsors (max capacity 80)
There is also a new Directors Suite which is used to entertain visitors from the visiting club as well as players’ families (max capacity 70)

However, this new large suite will further boost the club’s ability to host more corporate events both on match days and non-match days. It will therefore increase the revenue brought into the club (max capacity unknown)

How long have we been waiting for the Robbie Williams suite to open?

A BBC Sport article in 2006 noted that “Pop star Robbie Williams is to have a restaurant named after him” and that “the £275,000 suite is part of an overhaul of the Lorne Street stand which should be completed next year.”
