Mansfield Town arrange minutes applause for Darrell Clarke during Wembley final
In a touching gesture from the opposition, Mansfield Town have called for a minutes applause for Port Vale manager Darrell Clarke during the League Two play-off final.
Clarke was born in Mansfield and had a six year playing spell at Mansfield Town. Earlier this season, the manager suffered a close family bereavement and the applause is to send best wishes to Clarke and his family.
It’s a great gesture from our opponents who have shown their class and empathy for Clarke’s recent loss.
The tweet containing details of the applause is below:
👏 We invite supporters to join us in applause after the 8th minute at Wembley this Saturday as we send our well wishes to Vale manager and former #Stags' midfielder Darrell Clarke.
