Tom Pett – probably a draw was a fair result
Port Vale captain Tom Pett said that the Valiants went for the win against Exeter but a draw was probably a fair result.
The two teams played out a tight goalless draw at Vale Park on Tuesday night.
After the game, Pett told the media: Two good teams going toe-to-toe. They are second in the League for a reason and they don’t concede many goals. It showed, it was a tight game with very little chances.
“Probably a draw was a fair result. We obviously went for the win and had a lot of forward players at the end. We obviously wanted the win got the draw, it’s ten points out of four games so it’s still positive.
“We want to win every game we are involved in… We knew we had to be clinical but the chances didn’t come as much as we wanted to.
“It’s fine margins especially when two good teams are going for it. We didn’t get the rub of the green. It’s now about keeping that momentum. Take each game as it comes and don’t look too far ahead.”
