Fine margins – Andy Crosby on Port Vale’s draw with Exeter City
Port Vale assistant manager Andy Crosby says he was pleased with a “dominant” Port Vale performance and the “bounce of the ball” denied David Amoo a late winner.
The Valiants played out a goalless draw with Exeter on Tuesday evening. The visitors hit the woodwork but Vale also came agonisingly close to a winner when Amoo could not convert with the last kick of the game.

Crosby told the media: “It was a game we dominated and a game we tried to win right to the end. I am delighted with the clean sheet. It is ten points from four games and we move on to the next one.
“I think we were the team that was trying to win the game, let’s say. We tried to be positive, we made three attacking changes to be fresh at the top of the pitch and I thought it was a game that we dominated and had control of.”
Talking of Amoo’s chance, Crosby added: “I was trying to blow it over the line! They are the fine margins aren’t they? The bounce of the ball there.”
