We’re in charge of our own destiny – Port Vale’s Andy Crosby remains confident
Assistant manager Andy Crosby says the mood in the Port Vale squad is confident ahead of a tough trip to Tranmere Rovers at the weekend.
Crosby is set to take charge of the team following the understandable absence of Darrell Clarke on bereavement leave. He told the media that things were looking good at the moment: “The response since the Swindon performance has been good. Nine points in five games is breeding belief and confidence. The numbers is increasing which increases competition.”
However, Crosby is looking for an improved performance after a disappointing home display against Northampton. He added: “We were far from at our best and we got a really good point and that could be a really valuable point come the end of the season.”
The fixture against Tranmere will test Vale’s promotion credentials with Crosby saying: “We know it’s going to be a tough test… they are up there for a reason.”
However, the assistant manager says that things still remain positive for the Valiants commenting: “We’re in charge of our own destiny. We are in charge of it, our preparation, our performance and how we can effect the next game. It’s up to us to play our game with courage, with bravery and confidence and if we do that we’re a match for any team in this League. It’s about us and our performance.”
