Rumour Mill: Port Vale linked with loan move for striker
The Footballer Insider website says that Port Vale are one of a number of clubs linked with a loan move for a forward.
According to the website, Vale are one of a number of sides interested in taking Aston Villa forward Brad Young on loan.
The Valiants have added Ryan Edmondson and Kian Harratt, both strikers, on loan in the January transfer window but the club remains short of numbers upfront as Jamie Proctor and Devante Rodney remain sidelined and Dennis Politic was recalled by Bolton Wanderers.
The website claims:
Aston Villa striker Brad Young is the subject of a late-window race between Swindon Town, Northampton Town, Mansfield Town and Port Vale, Football Insider understands.
The 19-year-old spent the first half of this season on loan at Carlisle United before his stint was cut short earlier this month.
A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Villa have given the green light for Young to go out on loan again before the close of the transfer window.
A product of Villa’s academy, Young joined Carlisle United on loan in August of last year.
He contributed three goals and one assist in his 20 appearances for the League Two club.
However, none of those goals came in his 14 league outings.
