We will be ready – Tom Conlon’s message ahead of Exeter test
Port Vale captain says that the club’s mounting injury list is no excuse and the side will be looking to bounce back from the defeat to Newport County.
The Valiants played that game with midfielder Ben Garrity in a makeshift forward role after injuries ruled out Jamie Proctor, James Wilson, George Lloyd, David Amoo, Devante Rodney, David Worrall, Jake Taylor and Alex Hurst.
It is a really good group and one that I have so much belief in, and I know everyone else has. We will be ready come Saturday…
However, Conlon says the squad can’t feel sorry for themselves as he told the media: “We have got a good squad. We are using absolutely no excuses whatsoever. We have a really good squad and the players, the staff, we all have faith in each other.
“We will be looking to bounce back against Exeter. We will put a team out that the gaffer thinks can win the game and we will give it a right good go.
“We had two defeats on the bounce and people started asking questions. We reacted from that. So, we have already proved it, but we will keep proving it, and we will prove it for the rest of the season.
