Any Premier League team will do – matchwinner Dennis Politic on his third round draw hopes
Port Vale matchwinner Dennis Politic said the Valiants “deserved” their victory over Burton Albion in the FA Cup second round and he’s now looking forward to the third round draw.
The forward confirmed that he wasn’t fully fit after being withdrawn during Vale’s Football League Trophy game with Rotherham United but he said “adrenalin” helped him get through the closing stages of the Burton match. Politic scored twice in the closing stages to take the Vale through to the second round with a 2-1 away win.
Burton played a really good game but I think we deserved that victory today…
Politic told the media: “Thank you to the gaffer that he brought me on… Burton played a really good game but I think we deserved that victory today.”
The forward confirmed he felt only 75% fit but “I’ve been getting the right treatment from the physio.”
The loanee said he wanted a top-flight team in the third round draw adding: “I’d like to get Man Utd. Man Utd or Man City. But any Premier League team will do.”
However, despite the memorable win, Politic maintains that the club’s main focus remains on League Two adding: “The cups are really important but the most important is the League. We definitely want to win the next two games.”
