These are the games you live for – fans react to Port Vale’s dramatic 3-2 win over Leyton Orient
Port Vale fans were delighted with the side’s never say die attitude as they left it late to defeat Leyton Orient 3-2 on Saturday afternoon.
Darrell Clarke’s side turned around a 2-1 loss into a 3-2 win thanks to two dramatic goals in injury time. Fans felt it was poetic justice for O’s striker Harry Smith who had goaded the home support when his side had taken the lead.
Here are a selection of comments.
I might be sticking my neck out here but I don’t think we will get relegated…

Only just calmed down after that. What a finish! Superb impact by all three subs. Great to see Jake Taylor looking like the player we know he can be. I must admit I took great satisfaction seeing (Harry) Smith’s face as he walked down the tunnel…

Awesome. These are the games you live for. At the end of the game it was just like the teams were just coming out as everyone was still there! The few that left early must be kicking the cat when they flick the results on. I thought the front two were excellent first half keeping their defence busy. We should have made more of the two defenders being booked and seems like I’m one of the few who agreed with the MOTM decision. Excellent game…

Cass was outstanding today. We seriously need to get this guy signed permanently if possible. There were glimpses of the old Jake Taylor. If Garrity is out for a week or two – he was excellent first half – then I wouldn’t have any qualms about sticking him in…

Judge it after 10 games is the old cliché; well, we’re up into the automatic places, with a few players still to find their best form, Politic just making his (incredible) introduction to the first team and having played most of the teams around us at the top…

Great first half where we should have been more to the good. It was inevitable they’d come back into it second half and we showed some real character to get something from it. Individually I thought Smith, Gibbo and Worrall were good throughout the game. Our midfield went missing second half, but fair play to the side as we came back from it. If Proctor could more regularly finish we’d struggle to hold on to him…

We just keep answering the critics. Concerns that Politic was signed and not played… he comes on and scores a late goal. Honestly I’m not sure what else there is to moan about now. Everything is going swimmingly!

Without doubt should have been three or four up at half time. Lost our way a bit second half, jammy first goal for them then a defensive mistake for the second. Amoo had a glorious chance to equalise but put it over the Hamil Road! Not to worry the next time he set it up perfectly. Well done DC and the lads top marks to the fans who cheered the lads off . Happy happy Days!

At this moment in time all I can say is wow… that is the best ending and atmosphere i have witnessed for a fair few years at Vale and finally we have a manager with passion and a manager who knows tactically how to win games

What a game, I must be dreaming. Absolutely fantastic win and shows we play for 90 plus minutes. Well done to every player for not giving up and for the wonderful support today by our great fan base…

Many thanks to Harry Smith for the extra motivation…
For Us All
Away from the pitch, the reported racist abuse of Leyton Orient goalkeeper Laurence Vigouroux received universal condemnation. Here are a couple of comments on that issue:
I’m absolutely fuming this idiot’s racist tweet is detracting from a cracking game and cracking win for us today.

Disgrace. It’s a stain on a memorable day.
