Surprise ban for Port Vale striker
Port Vale have announced that striker Devante Rodney has been banned for the next three games.
The news comes as a shock as there was no suggestion that the forward was subject to any disciplinary action from the FA. However, the ban relates to an “off the ball” incident during the away win over Swindon Town.
A club statement said:
The FA have today charged Devante Rodney with misconduct for a breach of FA Rule E1.1 for an off the ball incident that wasn’t seen by the match officials, during the SkyBet League Two match vs Swindon Town on 11 September 2021.
Devante will receive a three-match ban, which will see him miss our fixtures against Harrogate Town (Sept 18), Scunthorpe United (Sept 25) and Leyton Orient (Oct 2).

This doesn’t surprise me at all . Rodney was very lucky not to be sent off . He barged into the Swindon player off the ball , and there’s no excuse for that. DC mentioned that Rodney is too nice , but he can show more steel without actions like this. The club should fine him.

From where we were sitting it looked like he ran into Rodney, the centre half had already had an off the ball incident with Proctor, he was putting it about and made a meal of anyone who went near him
