Former Valiants: duo find new clubs
Former Port Vale players Colin Daniel and Will Atkinson have secured moves to new clubs.
Daniel signed by Exeter City
Former Port Vale wideman Colin Daniel has agreed a one year contract with League Two rivals Exeter City. The 33 year-old joined the Valiants in 2014 and spent two years at the club making 55 appearances and scoring six times. He left the Vale in June 2016 to join Blackpool. He has since had spells at Peterborough United and Burton Albion before this latest move.
Atkinson agrees deal with Southend Utd
National League side Southend United have announced that former Valiant Will Atkinson has agreed a short-term deal with them. Atkinson has been without a club since leaving Port Vale in June 2020. “For a player of his calibre not to have a club even at non-league level, I thought it was a great opportunity for us,” boss Phil Brown enthused. Atkinson had two spells with the Valiants, initially joining on loan in 2007 and then returning on a short-term contract in 2019. In total, he made 23 appearances, scoring twice.
