Newcastle Town 2-6 Port Vale match report
Captain Tom Conlon scored twice as the Valiants found the target six times in their friendly game against Newcastle Town.
Vale took the lead after just five minutes when Devante Rodney found Conlon to score the opener. The captain could have had a second when his free-kick went just wide.
The home side came close to equalising when they hit the woodwork before a Conlon free-kick on 26 minutes made it 2-0 for the Valiants. Just four minutes later Worrall made it 3-0 after good work from Benning and Rodney. On 41 minutes, youngster Eden Bailey made it 4-0 with a composed finish from Benning’s cross.
Darrell Clarke made just one change at the break before he changed his entire eleven on the hour mark as Vale finished the match with a starting line-up comprising entirely of academy players.
The youngsters continued Vale’s good work with Kamani McFarlane netting twice while former Valiant Maxwell Chimenes scored twice late on to put the home side on the scoresheet.
