Former Valiants: goalkeeper moves into coaching role
Released Port Vale goalkeeper Scott Brown has been announced as the new goalkeeping coach of League Two rivals Exeter City.
The 36 year-old veteran was one of fifteen players to be released by the Valiants at the end of the season.
A club statement said:
We are pleased to announce that experienced goalkeeper Scott Brown has joined the club in a coaching capacity.
Scott will focus on his coaching career at the club but will be registered as a player, providing goalkeeping cover if required.
Brown was signed by former manager Neil Aspin back in 2018. He was immediately the club’s first-choice goalkeeper and remained so until the end of the 2020-21 campaign. In total he made 144 appearances for the club and was also named as player of the year in 2019.
In total, Brown has made almost 550 appearances for five clubs.
