Port Vale FC named as Football League community club of the year
Football League community club of the year award: Port Vale have been named as the 2021 winners of the award.
The winners were announced at the annual Football League awards ceremony which was broadcast live on Sky Sports Football on Friday April 29th.
Port Vale were one of six regional winners which comprised the shortlist for the award but won the overall award after their “staggering” efforts during the global pandemic.
The Valiants previously won the Midlands category with the judges saying of Port Vale that:
Port Vale’s Foundation and their response to the pandemic caught the judge’s attention due to its authenticity and their impressive ability to mobilise their community. An unbelievable 300,000 meals were delivered by the Club reducing the serious impact of recent times for those in need. Their ability to provide such widespread support alongside maintaining projects that focus closely on smaller diverse groups of individuals, such as their sport and dance youth club, was applauded by the panel of judges.
Congratulations to everyone at Port Vale football club and the Port Vale Foundation for their astonishing efforts during the pandemic and well done to all for a well deserved award. This is a proud time for the supporters of Port Vale.
