I can’t speak highly enough of him, since I have come in the building. He is really maturing…
Conlon has been in inspirational form this season and his first goal, from the centre circle looks certain to be voted as the best goal of the season.
Speaking to the media after the result, Clarke commented: “He has that unbelievable skill, ability… it’s not luck. He’s seen the goalie off his line and it’s a great finish.
“He’s a great lead. I can’t speak highly enough of him, since I have come in the building. He is really maturing and I think this run, and the bad run, will make him an even better leader.
“His performances have been top notch.”
It’s rare to say it but that was a goal you couldn’t really do anything about…
Barrow caretaker manager Rob Kelly felt the goal changed the game and also praised it. Kelly told the media: “I think the game changed on the one real piece of skill – it was a great strike.
“Both teams went at it and physically matched each other really but that goal changed the tempo and the outcome really – it’s rare to say it but that was a goal you couldn’t really do anything about.”
