Port Vale team news: Clark starts, Pope and Robinson upfront
Port Vale manager John Askey has made six changes for the home game against Carlisle Utd on Saturday afternoon
As expected loan signing Mitch Clark comes in for the injured James Gibbons as right-back. Meanwhile Theo Robinson and Tom Pope look set to start as a front two. Adam Crookes gets the nod ahead of Shaun Brisley as centre-half while Cristian Montano starts as left-back and there’s a shock in central midfield as Whitehead and Burgess replace Conlon and Joyce.
Dropping defensive midfielder Joyce to the bench may be to accommodate a 4-4-2 formation with Burgess and Whitehead as central midfielders, Rodney and Worrall on the wings and Pope and Robinson upfront.
On the bench, Alex Hurst gets a subs spot alongside former Carlisle player Harry McKirdy.
