Port Vale loan out midfielder
Port Vale have announced that midfielder Dan Trickett-Smith has been loaned to former club Leek Town until January.
The midfielder was signed by former owner Norman Smurthwaite from Leek Town in 2019 but has found his Port Vale first-team appearances limited. He has made just three senior appearances since joining. He has also had two loan spells during his time with the Valiants.
The move also means that Port Vale’s squad complies with the EFL 22 players aged over 21 ruling.
A club statement said:
Port Vale Football Club can confirm that Dan Trickett-Smith has joined Leek Town FC on loan until January.
Trickett-Smith was signed by Liverpool from Crewe for £300,000 in 2012, and after 4 years on Merseyside moved to the USA with Sacramento Republic.
He returned to England with Leek Town, racking up an impressive goals to appearance record in his spells with the club.
‘Tricks’ featured in games throughout pre-season, however will be looking for more first team football, with Leek Town providing a platform for regular game time.
Port Vale would like to wish Dan good luck during his loan move.
