Duo training with Port Vale as club look to replace Rhys Browne
Port Vale have two players training with the club as they look to replace the departed Rhys Browne.
Browne left the club due to personal reasons and the Valiants are looking to recruit a wide player to replace him.
The Staffordshire Sentinel has now revealed the identity of the two players training with the club.
One is former Carlisle United winger Harry McKirdy, a somewhat controversial figure among Vale fans. The former Stoke City youth team player was released by Carlisle at the end of the season. A talented player who scored eleven goals last time, McKirdy had a difficult relationship both with Carlisle fans (as this article explains) and opposition fans due to some on his antics on the pitch. However, at 23 years of age, he clearly has talent and time to develop and the Valiants may feel he is worth the risk.
The other player is less well known than McKirdy. Newcastle Town forward Ryan McLean is also training with the Vale. McLean scored 14 goals in 29 games for Newcastle last season. He is aged 21.
