Port Vale FC have confirmed that the Robbie Williams “homecoming” concert due to take place this summer has been cancelled.
A statement said:
Robbie Williams’ homecoming concert at Port Vale has been postponed until summer 2021 due to the ongoing coronavirus situation.
The charity concert was originally scheduled for June 20, however, it has been postponed in advance due to uncertainty over when Government-imposed restrictions will be lifted in relation to the coronavirus pandemic.
In a video message addressed to fans, Robbie said: “Due to the current situation the organisers have sensibly decided to postpone this event which will now happen in the summer of 2021.
“As soon as a new date for the show is confirmed it will be announced along with details of the on sale dates for the remaining ticket allocation. Please bear with us until then.
“Tickets already purchased for the event will be valid for the new date.”
“Obviously I’m incredibly gutted about not being able to make the homecoming gig at Port Vale – it’s a gig of a lifetime.
“I was tremendously looking forward to it – I’ve been thinking about it every day since we announced it was going to happen – but what can you do?
“The situation in the world right now means it’s absolutely impossible – if in any way it was we’d be there doing it.
“So that’s the information – stay tuned until we give the information for the new date. Until then – from my family to yours – all the love in the world. Be safe, be sound, wash your hands… and your bum!”
Ticket holders will be contacted with further information as soon as the new event date is confirmed.
