Port Vale manager John Askey said he was “really pleased” with his side performed during the goalless draw with Cheltenham and added “we deserved to win.”
The Valiants took on a Cheltenham side who had a 100% record at home this year and had the better of the chances. Vale hit the bar through Mark Cullen and also had two penalty appeals turned down.
I am disappointed we haven’t got the three points because I thought we really deserved it…
Speaking after the match, Askey told the media: “I am really pleased with how we played, I thought we deserved to win the game. We created quite a few chances, and hit the bar. I thought they were penalties at the time and, when I have watched them back on the video, we should have had two penalties.
