Supporters’ Club and Love Football Hate Racism to host event featuring Leon Legge, Sevvy Aslam and All the Young
Port Vale Supporters’ Club and Love Football Hate Racism will host an evening of football, music and passion including interviews with Leon Legge and Sevvy Aslam plus music from All the Young.
A press release states:
Saturday 14th March, Valiant Suite, Vale Park 7pm
Join us for what promises to be a brilliant night of music and passion. Hear from Vale’s captain, the ever-present Leon Legge, talking about his life in football, the ups, the downs, and dealing with epilepsy and racism. Leon will co-host the event with Radio Stoke presenter Phil Bowers.
You will also get the opportunity to hear from Sevvy Aslam Port Vale’s Academy Manager who has overseen an amazing transformation in its fortunes. In the 2007/08 season, the Port Vale Academy was ranked 66th out of the 92 English league clubs for player productivity when it was a Centre of Excellence. In 2018 the Academy had risen to 33rd. Hear how this transformation has taken place and how players such as Nathan Smith and James Gibbons have progressed through the Academy.
The evening is there to celebrate the diversity we have within Vale. We have a great line-up of music and speakers…
Supporters’ Club Fan Liaison and Diversity Officer, Malcolm Hirst, said “The evening is there to celebrate the diversity we have within Vale. We have a great line-up of music and speakers and first and foremost it will be an enjoyable evening for only £5.”
Local artists All the Young, Lissy Taylor, and The Crezz will be providing music. Stoke-on-Trent’s favourite indie band, All the Young, will head the entertainment. Their debut album Welcome Home was a top 40 hit and they have toured with the likes of the Kaiser Chiefs, The 1975, Catfish and the Bottlemen, The Courteeners, The Twang, The Pigeon Detectives and HardFi.
They are not to be missed. And Ryan and Jack Dooley, the brothers who formed the band, are big Vale supporters.
All the Young are joined by Potteries artist Lissy Taylor, a songwriter with a distinctive voice and a haunting new sound, and The Crezz, favourites of the local pub music scene whose guitarist Paul can be found in stands at Vale Park.
