Port Vale have good news on injured duo
Port Vale manager John Askey is confident that injured duo Jake Taylor and Cristian Montano will be fit for the team’s next fixture against Crawley Town.
The pair have been regulars in the first-team over the season but missed the game as Taylor was taken ill before the weekend while Montano was suffering from a back injury.
He has been carrying a knock and by giving him a breather he should be fully recovered on Saturday…
The pair missed the 0-0 draw against Cheltenham Town with available again Leicester City loanee Mitch Clark replacing Montano as left-back and utility man Will Atkinson promoted to the bench to cover Taylor’s absence. Despite the absences, Vale put on a fien performance and with better luck they could well have recorded Cheltenham’s first home defeat of the year.

Speaking after the match, Askey told the media: “Jake should be back in on Monday. With Monty , I felt it was best to just give him that bit of a breather. He has been carrying a knock and by giving him a breather he should be fully recovered on Saturday.”
If the pair are passed fit, it means the Valiants will only be missing injured central defender Shaun Brisley for the home fixture against Crawley Town on Saturday. However, fit again youngster Adam Crookes at least offers the side cover in central defence.
