Four players set to return, one doubtful for Port Vale’s match against Walsall
Port Vale are set to name an extremely strong matchday squad for their visit to Walsall this weekend with a number of players returning from injury or suspension.
Defender James Gibbons and striker Tom Pope both return from suspension but may have to settle for a place on the bench after the team’s strong display in beating Colchester United 3-0 last weekend.
Gibbons and Pope could be joined by Jake Taylor and David Amoo on the bench after the duo returned from injury to resume training this weekend.
It means an immensely strong Vale bench could boast the likes of Gibbons, Pope, Bennett, Amoo, Taylor and Manny Oyeleke.
However, manager John Askey did confirm that utility man Will Atkinson has picked up a knock in training and could be a doubt for the game. Atkinson could join the injured Adam Crookes and suspended Mitch Clark on the sidelines.
