Utility player Will Atkinson has agreed a deal to remain at Vale Park until the end of the season.
The 31 year-old joined the Valiants on a short-term deal in October and since then has been a regular member of the Vale first-team squad, appearing in a number of positions.
The player initially joined Vale on a loan deal back in 2007 before his spell this season. He has a total of fifteen appearances and has scored one goal.
Atkinson has agreed a deal which will see him remain at Vale until the end of this season.
Manager John Askey praised the player’s versatility telling the official Port Vale website: “Will’s got a great attitude and has a done well since he arrived at the club in October. Most importantly he’s a good footballer.
“His versatility is vital as well. He’s always looked comfortable in whatever position he’s played in, whether that be full back or in the midfield which is a very important for us.”
