Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola says “anything can happen” as his side prepare to host Port Vale in the third round of the FA Cup.
Reigning FA Cup holders City are overwhelming favourites to win the tie but Guardiola is not taking anything for granted.
Port Vale will be more than welcome. It’s nice. That’s why this country is the best…
He told the media: “It’s a knockout game, anything can happen. The schedule has been incredible, to not have to travel and play at home will be a big advantage. I’ve said many times we try to take every competition seriously.
“Port Vale will be more than welcome. It’s nice. That’s why this country is the best. All the competitions and all the leagues, they support their own clubs.
“This afternoon I will see more games of them. Then we will decide how we play.”
