January transfer window: what’s the deal with Port Vale’s loaned out players?
January transfer window: with the window about to open we look at who’s on loan until when and which Port Vale players could see themselves loaned out in the New Year.
Still on loan…
Kieran Kennedy – on loan to Wrexham until January 4th
The defender has expressed an interest in extending his stay and manager John Askey could be tempted to offer an extension or even a permanent deal. Kennedy’s future is likely to hinge on what defenders, if any, John Askey brings in during the transfer window.
Alex Hurst – on loan to Bradford PA until January 1st
Youngster Hurst was sent on loan at former club Bradford Park Avenue after his summer move. However, with Park Avenue struggling in the League and his loan spell set to end, will Vale look to send him to another non-league club to continue his education?
Ryan Campbell-Gordon on loan at Ilkeston Town
The left-back initially joined Ilkeston on a one month deal in September but is still at the club so the terms of his move are a little unclear. The youngster has been a regular pick in the Ilkeston side as the tweet below shows and the youngster also scored his first senior goal recently. It’s likely his loan spell will be extended either at Ilkeston or possibly a higher placed non-league side.

Lucas Green-Birch on loan at Market Drayton Town
He won’t forget his last game (a 9-2 loss to Cleethorpes Town) but the young midfielder appears to have generally done well in his loan spell. Will Vale extend it or will they look to another club higher up the triangle?
Maxwell Chimenes on loan at Newcastle Town until January
The youth team forward was loaned out in December.
Hayden Campbell on loan at Kidsgrove Athletic until January
The youth team midfielder was loaned out in December.
Loans recently ended…
Joe Berks (previously on loan at Stafford Rangers)
The midfielder’s spell at Stafford Rangers came to an end on Christmas Day and it’s likely Vale will look to loan him out again as they assess the youngster’s potential.
Daniel Tricket-Smith (previously on loan at Curzon Ashton)
The midfielder’s spell at Curzon Ashton came to an end before Christmas and with him out of the first-team picture, it’s likely Vale will seek a further loan spell for the former Leek Town player.
Could go on loan
It’s arguable that any member of the squad could be loaned out but two who may be considered are:
Ryan Lloyd
Used sparingly so far, could the locally-born midfielder be sent out to gain regular football elsewhere?
Jordan Archer
Striker Archer suffered an unfortunate injury and has also been used sparingly since. Could he also be loaned out for more game time?
