Connections between the two sides are something of a rarity but here is a selection of recent players to have played for both sides…
David Amoo
A regular in the Valiants line-up this season, the 28 year-old Port Vale forward could face one of his former clubs at the weekend. Amoo was a Liverpool player when he was sent on loan to Milton Keynes in 2011. He made three appearances including his professional debut.
Antony Kay
The central defender or midfielder had a four year spell at Milton Keynes between 2012 and 2016. He made 161 appearances, scoring six times and helped the club to promotion in 2015. He joined Vale in 2017 making sixty appearances in total before being released.
Malvin Kamara
The winger spent two years at Milton Keynes from 2004 to 2006 making 59 appearances. He later had a brief spell at Port Vale in 2006 when he made 18 appearances and scored a solitary goal.
Jemal Johnson
A rare transfer between the two sides, US-born Johnson was loaned to Vale from Milton Keynes in 2010. He made seven appearances for the Valiants. His spell at Milton Keynes stretched from 2007 to 2011 where he made 112 appearances.
Jay O’Shea
The cultured midfielder had a loan spell at Port Vale in 2011 where he made five appearances. Later that year he agreed a permanent move to Milton Keynes where he spent two years.
Chris Lines
The ball-playing midfielder spent two years at Vale Park where he made 71 appearances and scored four times. His time at Milton Keynes was briefer with a loan spell in 2012 generating 18 appearances. He is now at Northampton Town.
Matt Kennedy
The Scottish winger was on Premier League Everton books when he spent a spell on loan with Milton Keynes in 2014. he had moved to Cardiff when he sent a similar loan spell with Vale in 2016. He now plays for St Johnstone.
