Shocking corners, a comedy of errors, one to forget – views on Port Vale’s draw with Oldham
It wasn’t a vintage performance as Port Vale and Oldham played out a goalless draw and the fans’ views on the OVF forum reflect it…
Have your say now on the dedicated match forum threadNot a great result but we had chances to win it and on another day could have been 2-0 up at half-time. They also had chances so all in all we can’t complain. We are still unbeaten, still higher than expected in the League, still five off the play-offs and ten from the relegation zone.

14 corners and 13 bad ones! We played like it was a pre-season friendly. No urgency, too many players strolling around. The clean sheet, I suppose, is the only positive.

We are such an incredibly frustrating team. That second-half was tough watching. Yet again I find myself questioning the use of subs. It was pretty obvious within five mins of the restart what sort of game it was turning into yet he waited until nearly 80 mins to introduce Pope. And when we did, the crosses into the dried up! And a word on the corners… shocking. Worst I have ever seen.

One to forget, comedy of errors but we didn’t lose, thankful they didn’t have any quality up front and they left it late to bring on Chris Eagles. Vale should and could’ve scored in the first 20 mins but again we didn’t score when on top.

The set pieces were dire, we missed Wozza there and his energy today. A draw was probably right as they could have nicked it late on but positive that it is another unbeaten game.

Was that the same team I watched beat Bradford City, by any chance? I’ve seen better performances on Trubshaw Cross! Both teams were incredibly poor and some of the misplaced passes and tackles were actually cringeworthy.
