They chucked bodies on the floor – Port Vale keeper on Oldham tactics
Port Vale goalkeeper Scott Brown said Oldham’s tactics were designed to kill any momentum by the home team.
Vale were held to a disappointing goalless draw on Saturday and while the home side failed to fire, the opponents’ tactics prompted criticism.
It’s fair to say that Dino Maamria’s tactics are not a big hit at Vale Park and following John Askey’s criticism of time wasting, goalkeeper Scott Brown has also had his say.
Brown told the official Port Vale website: “Any momentum we got going they killed it, they chucked bodies on the floor, it’s what they did at Stevenage last year, I don’t know what the common denominator is there but it is obviously frustrating and a difficult one to not win the game.”
The goalkeeper added: “The clean sheet’s a positive but we wanted the win and we’re ultimately disappointed.”
