Port Vale striker receives good news on shoulder injury
Port Vale have said that scans of striker Jordan Archer’s shoulder injury have thankfully revealed no break.
Archer was taken off in some pain towards the end of the 1-0 defeat to Newport County. After making a good impression in his opening appearances, the club were hoping the forward hadn’t sustained a long-term injury.
Manager John Askey told the Sentinel newspaper: “Jordan dislocated his shoulder so we are just waiting for X-Rays to see if anything is broken. We don’t think there is so hopefully it is ‘just’ a dislocation and everything has gone back in place.”
The forward may even be in contention for this weekend’s game against Plymouth Argyle.
Archer joined the club after Bury were expelled from the League and scored on his debut in a Football League Trophy win over Shrewsbury Town.
