Port Vale striker moves up to three goals for the season
Port Vale striker Richie Bennett has been officially credited with the club’s winning goal in the 1-0 win over Cambridge United.
The goal came via a scramble in the penalty area and was originally credited as an own-goal.
However, the club have successfully appealed to the Football League’s Dubious Goals Committee with the result that Bennett has been named as the scorer.
The decision is confirmed on the Football League website
It means that the Port Vale striker now has three goals in six appearances for the Valiants this season.
