Make your home a fortress – Port Vale defender’s rallying call ahead of Plymouth game
Port Vale’s veteran defender Leon Legge says he wants opposition teams to be “scared” of visiting Vale Park.
Legge says the Valiants should be full of confidence and the home crowd can be the “twelfth man” on Saturday.
You want to make your home a fortress and you want teams coming here to be scared of playing teams like us at home…
Speaking ahead of Saturday’s game, Legge told the official Port Vale website: “You have to play with no fear and we showed last season when we played some of the big sides like Mansfield at home, not many people expected us to beat them at home and we pulled off a good result.
“I’ve not really taken any notice of what other teams have done in the league, I’m only concerned with us really. We’re at home so we’ve got the home advantage and hopefully we can get three points.
“You want to make your home a fortress and you want teams coming here to be scared of playing teams like us at home. The fans can be the twelfth man and intimidate the opposition, we should be full of confidence as well with the way we’ve started.”
