Midfielder Luke Joyce says he is “enjoying” his football under manager John Askey.
Joyce joined the club through former manager Neil Aspin last season but has been a regular starter under Askey during this campaign.
I like to think the fans are happy with what they’re seeing…
He told the official Port Vale website: “I’m really enjoying it… we’ve said it in the changing room, we’ve got an identity and a way of playing and everyone in the squad knows how we play and what we do in certain areas.
“I’m enjoying working under the gaffer, Dave and Pughey and it’s a good place to play. We’re playing good football; I’m enjoying trying to get on the ball and make us play and I’d have enjoyed it even more if we won .
“I like to think the fans are happy with what they’re seeing. Quite a lot of them stayed at the end of the game, they traveled in their numbers and clapped us off the pitch so I think they appreciated the efforts, but it’s just a shame we couldn’t reward them with something.”
