Port Vale’s Cristian Montano ruled out due to head injury
Port Vale midfielder Cristian Montano has been ruled out of the game against Grimsby Town due to concussion protocol.
Montano suffered a head injury in the second-half of Tuesday’s 2-1 win over Forest Green Rovers and had to be helped off the pitch by the Vale medical team.

Coach Dave Kevan confirmed that the in-form player will miss Saturday’s game. Kevan commented: “Monty took a blow to his head so there was a slight concussion. So, Monty is unlikely to figure tomorrow.”
“We will follow the protocol there and do the right thing for Monty.
“He was doing excellently. It is a shame for him. He has been very unfortunate. But he knows that he has made a contribution already and I am sure he will be ready and looking forward to continuing to do so.”
Montano was replaced by Ryan Lloyd on Tuesday evening and the midfielder, who returned to Vale Park in the summer, could start against Grimsby in Montano’s absence.
